Children of Light
“In Fontein Cave there are ancient cave paintings from the indians who lived there. Guadirikiri Cave, which has the hole in the top that allows the sunlight to pour in has a legend to it that states that an Arawak chief had a beautiful daughter who fell in love with the wrong man. The chief imprisoned his daughter in the guadirikiri cave to stop her from marrying the lover that he felt was not suitable for her. Her lover was also imprisoned, but in a different, nearby cave, and eventually they found each other. After being reunited the two mounted the skies on beams of light, which is where the holes in the roof of the Guadirikiri Cave is believed to have come from.”
